Vliegveld


Het vliegveld van Koksijde, dat op 3km van de Belgische kust ligt, is zeker een bezoekje waard! Het veld beschikt over twee zeer mooie beton/asfalt pistes waarvan de grootste een lengte van maar liefst 2678 meter heeft. Men moet wel bezoekend lid zijn van de West Aviation Club om gebruik te kunnen maken van het vliegveld. Dit houdt in dat men een eenmalige bijdrage van €50 betaalt per jaar. Gedurende dat jaar mag men dan altijd Koksijde bezoeken tijdens de openingsuren zonder ook maar iets te hoeven betalen!

Het vliegveld is strikt PPR !!
Een klaring, waarbij u ook een slotnummer ontvangt,  moet dus steeds telefonisch voor vertrek verkregen worden!

Bij de eerste contact name met ‘Koksijde Radio’ (Freq : 122.1) zal naar uw slotnummer worden gevraagd en de ‘runway in use’ worden medegedeeld. Het signalenpark is ook steeds in gebruik en dient verplicht overgevlogen te worden op 1400 ft. (Zie ‘Approach’)

Indien de militaire toren in gebruik is dient men strikt de bevelen op te volgen. Men moet steeds absolute voorrang verlenen aan militaire voertuigen en vliegtuigen die de banen op het vliegveld gebruiken. Het is verplicht dat alle piloten die naar Koksijde komen het Vliegveld handboek (Airfield Manual) doornemen.

RWY 02-20 : 795 x 30m (Only used when heavy crosswinds are present and only middle section is in use!)

Membership fee can be paid on arrival and is €50. It gives the pilot the right to land at Koksijde free of taxes during 1 year.

Weekdays from 16:30LT until sunset (if presence of an AFISO)

On completing this questionnaire, You will receive a Slot Number from us. This number you need to deliver on the first radiocontact. (see ‘Approach’)

En route:

When flying above 1400 ft: ALWAYS contact Ostend Approach 5 minutes prior to entering the TMA/CTA.
When flying below 1400 ft AND entering via the CTR of Koksijde: No need to contact Ostend Approach, directly contact Koksijde Radio.
When flying below 1400 ft AND entering via de TMA of Ostend: Contact Ostend Approach prior to entering the TMA

Approach:

If cleared by Ostend Approach: contact Koksijde Radio. (122.1)
If in contact with Brussels Info, contact Koksijde Radio (122.1), 5 NM from the airfield.
(A good visual reference when coming from the south is Diksmuide with the ‘Ijzertower’)

At the first contact with Koksijde Radio/Tower you have to deliver your Slot Number.

Fly overhead the airfield at 1400ft. (No need to contact Ostend of course)
Circuit at 900 ft.

Warning: RWY 11 and 02 have a RIGHT circuit and stay clear of the cities of Veurne and Koksijde.
Taxi: See Airfield Manual If anything is unclear while taxiing, please do contact Koksijde Radio immediately to avoid accidents!
Fill in the flight register after landing and before take-off. The register is located inside the club house.
